Sony Ericsson Yari: for the youth

You have to hand it to the Sony company to never give up where developing a gaming mobile phone is concerned. After all, this is the company that manufactures the Playstation that happens to be the most successful gaming console in the world over. However, like most other handset companies, Sony Ericsson too hasn’t been able to come up with an ingenuous handset from the stand point of a gaming phone. However, Yari has definitely made a good attempt. Also, if you have been wondering what the weird name of the handset means- it stands for “spear” in Japanese actually.

Of course it has all its buttons in place that can be used as the controls for the game as well as an inbuilt accelerometer, another quite interesting feature of the phone is the camera itself which can actually be used as a motion detector for the phone so while gaming, this motion detector can follow the actual physical movements of the player. For this reason, the company gives you the phone along with a stand upon which you are supposed to place the phone and then do all your actions in front of it to allow the phone to detect the movements.

The image quality itself is pretty good and is quite usable under direct sunlight as well. Besides that, the display screen is of an impressive 2.4inch screen with a QVGA resolution standard. The look of the phone of course is meant for the younger crowd as so are its features.
