As known to most cellular phone lovers, the Apple iPhone and the Palm Treo allow its users to read Microsoft office files such as the Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but only the Treo users are allowed not only to read but also to write, edit and save these Microsoft Office files. The other noticeable feature of the Palm Treo is that is also supports Microsoft Outlook where as the Apple iPhone does not. All must know it that both the Apple iPhone and the Palm Treo do not support Java.
The Palm Treo model phones supports thousands of applications that are third party whilst the Apple iPhone does not do the same. This Apple iPhone does not support any third party applications until Apple released the SDK, which stands for software developer's kit. Since the Apple iPhone, SDK is very new it will still take time until the Apple iPhone will start to support other third party applications.
The Apple iPhone and Palm Treo are both touch screen phones. The additional feature of the Treo is that it comes along with a stylus and a backlit QWERTY keyboard. The iPhone on the other hand has no keyboard except unless the user brings up the keyboard virtually. The iphone boasts of the single malfunction button that helps in navigation where as the Treo has a 5-way button.
The iPhone as compared to the Treo boasts of the Wi-Fi support. Both these smart phones have Bluetooth support. The Apple iPhone has a 2.0 EDA Bluetooth where as the Treo has only Bluetooth 1.2.
The iPhone has a comparatively larger display are that being of 3.5" vs. 2.8". The iPhone also boasts of a higher resolution as compared to the Palm Treo (320 x 480 vs. 240 x 240). The height and width of the phone is almost the phone and the iPhone is almost half as slim as the Treo. The iPhone is slightly lighter also than the Palm Treo.
Both these phones are GMS. The Palm Treo supports the UMTS connections. The Apple iPhone as compared to the Palm Treo has a longer talk time. The talk time is almost twice as much as the Palm Treo that being of 8 hours as compared to the 4 hours of Palm Treo. The Treo Battery is removable while the battery on the iPhone cannot be removed.
The Apple iPhone's storage is remarkable and larger when being compared to the Palm Treo. The Storage level of the Apple iPhone is that of 4 GB options and 8 GB options when being compared to the Palm Treo's 60 MB storage. The iPhone does not have any storage expansion capabilities like the Palm Treo. The Palm Treo has a card called as the miniSD, which is the expansion slot. The camera on both these phones is excellent although the megapixels of one differ from the other. The digital camera on the Apple iPhone is of 2 megapixels while Palm Treo has 1.3 megapixels.
