Apple iPhone vs. T-Mobile Google G1

The G-1, which is newly launched in the market, is the phone that is going to be reviewed against the Apple iPhone. The G-1, otherwise called the Google Phone or G1 definitely has some advantages and some disadvantages over the famous iPhone.

The first point that is in favor of the G-1, which also beats, the iphone on this one is that it actually has a physical slide out QWERTY keyboard in addition to a touch screen.

When it comes to comparing the digital cameras of both these high-end phones, the G-1's camera is much superior to the digital camera of the iPhone. The digital camera of G-1 has a higher resolution. Although neither of these phones have the option of video recording.

The feature that the G-1 considerably lacks is that of a good onboard memory. The memory space in the G-1 is as less as just 1 GB as compared to the storage capacity of the Apple iPhone, which is that of 8GB and 16GB. However, the market offers an 8-gig card that individuals can use for their G-1.

The G-1 also suffers from terribly as they are offered exclusively in the T-Mobile network, which comparatively is inferior when it comes to the supported city range than AT&T's. The G-1 phones provide 3G speeds in only 21 different markets to AT&T while compared to the iPhone's 200.

Other obstacles that a G-1 user might have to face are that the costumers require having a Google account to use the Google phone, this feature could have been avoided by Google while setting up their path. These Google Phones are only compatible with services that are being offered by Google and do not support Microsoft MS Exchange.

These two handsets pretty much are very good competitors and are neck to neck. The features that both these phones possess are that of online services and downloading a third party application, a built in GPS system used for guiding, Bluetooth support, MMS service, and limited copy and paste options. Both these phones are 3G capable and have a high-resolution color display as much as 320 X 480 pixels.

When it comes to how it feels in an individual's hand, the G1 id way smaller in length and height as compared to the iPhone, but it is also heavier and thicker. In terms of comparing the battery life of both these phones, the G1 has more talk time as compared to the iPhone in 3G mode. The battery life of the G1 is 350 minutes while the iPhone has a battery life of only 300 minutes. The battery life of the G1 is although comparatively less against the iPhone is 2G mode, 406 minutes against 600 minutes. However, the stand by time of the G1 phone is far ahead than the iPhone.

It will be fun and interesting to watch the consumer and market response to the first phone by Google, and how it fares and how it is being graded against its other competitors, especially the Apple iPhone.
