Nokia N Series vs. Apple iPhone

Nokia has released its latest line of phones namely the Nokia N series, which is an all in one device containing multimedia just like the Apple iPhone. It is not only a cellular phone but also a camera, a PDA, and a multimedia player. The phones that are released by Nokia are definitely a stiff competition to the Apple iPhone.

The N series cellular phones can conveniently sit into your pocket with a beautiful and attractive silver display, which allows you to watch videos, take as many photographs, send and check important emails and call the clients all through this one phone. Some of these N series phones have a two-way slide concept, the Nokia N series offers you with other features too. One of the features include the GPS integration containing maps to more than a 100 countries and featuring more than 15 million places of interest. Additional features could also be purchases by individuals for additional cost.

The already discussed feature of the Nokia N series is the sliding concept. This helps you switch to different modes that might interest you. On one side is the numeric key system, which is ofcourse conventional and the other side, has media keys. The slide system, offers some sort of protection from elements affecting the keyboard and the traditional features, which is very different from the iPhone. The iPhone as we all know has the virtual touch screen and a virtual keyboard.

Although iPhone is always remarkably more elegant, intuitive and much more beautiful than all its competitors yet the Nokia N series does have some competitive elements that it offers with a mixture of traditional features and increased multimedia capabilities. The Nokia N series like the Apple iphone has the same feature to offer, they both allow landscape and portrait mode. The iPhone however has a greater resolution as it offers on a big screen at 320 X 480 pixels while N series offers a resolution of 240 X 320 pixels depending on the model.

Having up to 5.0-megapixel camera, the Nokia N series offers quality and excellent photographs of high resolution and videos but the Nokia N series does not offer as great photos and the video editing software as the Apple Iphone. On the Apple Iphone with the help of this software, pictures and videos could be edited right away and sent immediately to friends, family and colleagues through the email.

When it comes to using voicemail, only the Apple offers a unique voicemail option that is also visual. The battery life of the Nokia N series is very less, antenna is weak and the multimedia player does not have the brightness or contrast control. On the other hand, the Apple Iphone has three different censors. The first one is a light sensor, which helps prevent the battery from dying fast and accordingly adjusts the brightness or contrast of the display. There is an option that helps in adjusting the portrait and landscape mode. The third is the proximity sensor that helps the iphone to turn its display and touch screen off as and when the iphone comes closer to a person's body.
