Sometimes I am amazed at the shortsightedness gets my point of view with some issues: Linux running inside an Applet For all (computers, and different ;-)) clearly understand the news, explained some technical data. What is needed at least for a computer (of any kind) work? An operating system (hereafter SO) where SO can be Windows, any "flavor" of Linux, Unix, and so on.
What is an applet? Any new product of the famous brand of apple? No to the second question. An applet is a "dock", usually on websites, with the aim of providing interaction and dynamism to it. This type of element is developed in a language called Java. If you know what a "Flash", an applet is plus or minus the same but developed in another language.
What is JAVA? A development platform with Sun Microsystems, initially noted for being Multiplatform.
What is platform? Cross platform, in this context is that it can run on any OS (with some nuance, but more or less)
Therefore, and by summarizing more or less graphic, news links, it could be something like the following:
S.O. -> Java -> "the applet" -> S.O. -> Java -> "the applet" -> S.O. ... ..
And here, decimal.
Honestly, I think an effort a little absurd, in my humble and myopic view of course, since the market for "virtual machines" is not new, and there are occasional actor in it.
No man is that in this way, and from the Internet you can run an OS! Lies and fat, the execution of an applet is local, not on the server from which you download.
Well sure some useful it! Well yes, but as I say that with my technological myopia, not seen.
I say, "this" team of physicists "has no hobbies best to stick day and night in front of a pc? Unless they have been based on well-greased, surely not.
