You might not have heard about the brand new mobile phone platform that Intel and Nokia together have teamed up to release. This is because the announcement about the release was made very recently at the World Mobile Congress and they confirmed that MeeGo has indeed been created as a mobile phone platform for the use of most high end handsets such as smart phones.
MeeGo is supposed to be Linux based and is competing head on of course with the Android mobile platforms and is supposed to be at par with them; MeeGo indeed too is an open source software and thus this claim about being as good as Android is actually believable. In fact both the companies- Nokia as well as Intel are enthusiastic about not limiting the capabilities of their new platform only to the mobile phone world but they intend on developing this technology further so that it can be used for in-car entertainment as well as laptops and notebooks as well as for those kinds of televisions that are connected to the internet. In fact the officials at Nokia have confirmed that MeeGo is only the first step of their association with Intel and they intend on working with each other further.MeeGo is also intended to have its own online store for all the application needs of the companies’ clients. Nokia users with Meego can download them through their Ovi accounts and Intel users with Meego can do the same through their AppUp Centers.
