Chrome OS is an operating system being developed by Google. Based on Linux, it will be designed initially for netbooks and aims to be fast and to give as quickly as possible to the user, it is used for services and software publisher.

Photos of what the interface would have started circulating on the Web. It would be a version for developers and stamped 0.1.15, a version number which clearly refers to an early stage of the system. So, if the photos are real, the interface should be considered temporary:

The simplicity and sobriety seem to be the watchwords of Chrome OS. The Chrome browser is obviously there, got rid of the outline we know it today. A Dock is now the way Mac OS X to display on a central area on the edge of the screen a set of shortcuts. Such shortcuts are connected to Google services: Chrome, Gmail, RSS, Maps, News, Calendar, Youtube, etc..

In the lower right corner of the screen, an area of specific information:

  • The active application
  • The battery level
  • Time

The question many are asking is to know when Google will offer a beta for the general public.
