Handy Weather Review for Windows Mobile

Handy Weather by Paragon software is a finger friendly weather application for Windows Mobile phones that offers a wealth of features. It supports 7 day forecasts with temperature highs and lows, GPS based city search and weather details. It also offers a choice of two home screen display layouts that can display the information that you require.

The main screen of Handy Weather displays the 5 day forecasts with an icon that indicates the weather pattern for that particular day. Once you click the icon of a particular day, you are presented with detailed weather information. The information that you can view for each day is the high and low temperatures, humidity, wind speed and direction and the UV index.

You also get an hourly forecast. I found my city easily as Handy Weather supports weather reporting for 40,000 cities. If you want you can also choose to use your phones GPS to locate your city. This feature should be useful for travellers who are visiting a foreign country.

Handy Weather also has global weather maps which are displayed in red, blue and green. You can view the temperature and pressure from here and view the general weather conditions in different parts of the globe.

You also have the option of two displays for the today plugin. You can view hour by hour forecasts or a 5 day forecast. I found the 5 day forecast enough for my needs.

I also liked the fact that I could use any data connection of my choice and set the duration of the updates to save on my gprs usage.

Conclusion

Overall Handy Weather offers almost every feature that you could think of in a weather application. The only gripe I have with the app is its price. It is priced at $17.95 and you need to pay a yearly subscription fee. There are a lot of other weather apps which are less expensive and are missing just a few features which are offfered in this application.

The good part is that they give you a 14 day trial. I would recommend trying out the app, Its definitely worth the price If you need every feature it offers.
